"Have fun and feel good about doing it" is the phrase you'll hear most associated with the Women Business Owner's Alliance's 17th Annual Women's Night of Comedy to take place on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.
This year, the comedy night will benefit four local causes that specifically help empower, develop, educate, and create opportunities for women and girls in the Pioneer Valley. The charities are: Dress For Success of Springfield, Smart Girls of the Westfield Boys & Girls Club, Womanshelter/Companeras in Holyoke, and Providence Ministries/Margaret's Pantry also in Holyoke.
"After 16 years of doing this event, we've found it to be a huge opportunity for women to not only benefit from a fun evening with friends, but also be part of a feel good event that contributes to helping other women and girls who may be their own neighbors," says Committee Chair Becky Castro.
Comediennes from New York City and Boston will hit the stage on March 11th at the Log Cabin for this fundraising event. Raffles and prizes will be another avenue for donating to each charity which will be on site that night.
For more information on the Women's Night of Comedy and to get tickets, become a sponsor, or learn about the comediennes, go to www.wboa.org/comedynight/ .
The Women Business Owners Alliance of the Pioneer Valley is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization established in 1983. The Women's Night of Comedy is one of their cornerstone events along with The Woman of The Year banquet in April.

Join Organizing for America for our 2010 Strategy Session in your area. The Strategy Sessions are a chance to talk with OFA staff and other volunteers in your area about our legislative and electoral plan for 2010. As an organization, we have come a long way in the past year. We have lessons to learn from the budget pledge drive, health insurance reform and the Massachusetts Senate Race. Now is the time to bring those lessons together and look forward to 2010. There are countless opportunities to create change in the coming year and we have an important role to play in making that happen. As a team, we will talk about how to be involved in creating change in our country, both legislatively and electorally. We will talk through national strategy and discuss together what that means for our local community.
